Allah promises the believers who do righteous deeds that He will grant them authority and security on Earth, just as He did for those before them, allowing them to practice Islam in peace. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ shared a vision of his Ummah's (community's) expansion, assured by Allah that they would not be destroyed by famine or by external enemies. Rather, any internal strife would be due to discord among themselves. This divine promise began to materialize during the Prophet’s ﷺ lifetime, as Islam spread through Makkah, Khaibar, Bahrain, and Yemen, and even reached non-Muslims in parts of Syria and other regions. Leaders of distant lands, including Heraclius and the king of Abyssinia, acknowledged the Prophet ﷺ, offering him gifts. After the Prophet's ﷺ passing, the Caliphate continued this expansion under Abu Bakr and later ‘Umar, who conquered territories in Syria, Egypt, and Persia, bringing the influence of Rome and Persia to an end. With the wealth from these victories, ‘Umar further strengthened the Muslim community. During Uthman's rule, Islamic influence reached North Africa, Andalusia, Cyprus, and the lands bordering China, fulfilling the promise of Islam’s spread. Non-Muslim communities contributed to the Muslim treasury through jizyah (protection tax), as promised by Allah to His Messenger ﷺ. The Muslims continue to fulfill Allah's command, seeking to uphold Islam with gratitude and faith, trusting in His promise.
