Allah promised that the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ would enter Makkah safely with his Companions, as seen in a vision. The Prophet ﷺ shared this vision with the Companions before the Treaty of Hudaibiyyah, which delayed their entry until the following year. Despite initial disappointment, the Companions later entered Makkah without fear, fulfilling Allah’s promise. In the 8th year of Hijrah, during Ramadan, the Prophet ﷺ entered Makkah humbly, giving thanks to Allah for the victory. Upon reaching the Ka'bah, he performed Tawaf, recited Takbir, and led the Muslims in prayer. He then gave a sermon, urging the Quraysh to abandon pre-Islamic pride, emphasizing that all people are from Adam, who was created from dust. The Prophet ﷺ pardoned the Quraysh, saying, "Go, you are free." He ordered Bilal to call the Adhan from atop the Ka'bah, marking the victory. The Prophet ﷺ then removed idols from the Ka'bah and commanded that idols be destroyed in Makkah and its surroundings to eliminate polytheism. This cleansing freed minds and hearts from idolatry, fulfilling Allah's promise to establish Islam.
