Our Mission
Make Islam Accessible is an initiative aimed at helping us understand more Quran. Making scholarly Islamic sources, accessible to all - regardless of how much you already know.
The Need
Many of our ummah often find ourselves falling into a more passive approach to faith, doing things because we have to and often blindly. But it is in the seeking of knowledge, and expansion of it, where we taste real sweetness of the deen. After all, this knowledge is our only weapon against the fitnah that swarms us in the modern world, and our only source of the happiness we find ourselves chasing.
The Problem
Many of us who want to increase our knowledge, find it impossible to navigate the vast and varied sources that saturate all forms of media. We want to learn but remain overwhelmed on how to start. When we begin to search for resources, we find it difficult to understand them having limited prior knowledge. When we look for simpler resources, we miss out on the beauty found in detail and the reliability of authentic sources
We then revert to our old ways, putting off learning about the deen to when we 'have more time or think it's inaccessible to us.This is significantly weakening the imaan of our ummah. After all, lacking knowledge is most often the reason for people's neglect of the deen; for if they were aware of it, it's perfection, it's source of ultimate fulfilment, genuine happiness, never-failing guidance and power, they would never neglect it as they do.
The Messenger has cried, "O my Lord! My people have indeed received this Quran with neglect." (Quran 25:30)
Our Solution
At its core, Make Islam Accessible aims to help us increase our knowledge of the deen through understanding more Quran.We've made free resources which condense high-quality sources, rich in detail into easy-to-understand shorter pieces of content. For example, condensing Ibn Kathir’s 4 volume two thousand page bibliography of the prophet ﷺ into an easy to understand timelines. Most resources are from In Kathir's works, and thelikes.
Our resources aid understanding and hope to promote the importance of building active learning habits whilst reading the Quran, so it becomes more of a fulfilling and exciting inquiry of knowledge rather than a confusing skim-read.
Our resources make it easier to go from a beginner with limited knowledge to a more intermediate keen seeker of knowledge! Patch up gaps in what you don't know using our interactive learning features. We aim to empower you in your faith, through growth in knowledge and in turn getting close to your Creator.
