Please see previous prophet section, Jeremiah bin Hilkiah, for background.
It is narrated that Nebuchadnezzar pur two lions in a well with Daniel. But the hungry lions did not attack him. He was left there for a while, until he became hungry. Allah then revealed to his prophet Jeremiah in Syria to prepare some food and drink for Daniel.
Jeremiah replied in confusing asking "My Lord! I am in Syria and Daniel is in Babylon (Iraq)?" Allah said he will send one to take him and the food to Daniel. He prepared the food and was taken to the well.
Daniel called out asking who was there, and if Allah had responded to him and Jeremiah explained. Daniel beautifully said "Praise be to Allah Who does not forget those who remember Him, and praise be to Allãh Who responds to the prayer of those who have hope in Him. Praise be to Allah Who does not fail those who put their trust in Him, and rewards patience with salvation, goodness with goodness, and Who removes distress after its infliction. Praise also be to Allah Who saves us when we are disappointed with our deeds, and Who gives us hope when every hope is cut off from us."
Note: There are other narrations on Daniel that describe a different story.
