After Adam and his son Seth, Idris was the first man to be sent as a prophet. Perhaps in Babylon.

Ibn Ishaq described that he was the first to write with a pen. He was alive when Adam was still alive, believed to have had 380 years left before death.

And mention in the Book ˹O Prophet, the story of˺ Enoch. He was surely a man of truth and a prophet.19:56

And We elevated him to an honourable status. 19:57

In the night journey of our Prophet ﷺ, according to Bukhari and Muslim, he saw him in the fourth heaven.

We do not know much about his prophetic mission.
