In Surah At-Tin, Allah, Most High, swears an oath and then reveals:
Indeed, We created humans in the best form.95:4
But We will reduce them to the lowest of the low ˹in Hell˺,95:5
except those who believe and do good—they will have a never-ending reward.95:6
This verse highlights the perfection in the creation of humans, showing that man was fashioned in the best possible form. Allah has perfected all of His creations, and yet man is distinguished by the special care and attention in his design. Allah says:
Who created you, fashioned you, and perfected your design,82:7
Who created you, fashioned you, and perfected your design,82:7
moulding you in whatever form He willed?82:8
Man’s creation is unique in its complexity. The human body, composed of cells, tissues, limbs, and systems, is the most intricate creation in the universe. Despite advances in science, even the most knowledgeable experts have not fully understood the complete workings of the human body. This complexity extends to the soul, where feelings, emotions, desires, and values constantly interact and struggle, making it difficult for even the most well-trained psychologists to fully comprehend. Allah further honors mankind by giving him a mind filled with reason, principles, and creativity—traits that enable humans to lead creation. Allah says:
Indeed, We have dignified the children of Adam, carried them on land and sea, granted them good and lawful provisions, and privileged them far above many of Our creatures.17:70
A clear proof of man's remarkable creation is his immune system, specifically the third line of defense in the body. Allah has endowed mankind with intricate defense mechanisms to protect against diseases. The skin serves as the first line of defense, while the eyes have eyelashes, eyelids, and tears to form the second line of defense. The third line of defense is the blood and its white blood cells. Under normal circumstances, there are approximately 25 million white blood cells circulating in the body. However, when the body is under threat from disease or infection, this number can increase to hundreds of millions within hours. These white blood cells serve as the body’s specialized defense force, equipped with chemical signals that allow them to communicate and coordinate responses. Once a foreign invader is detected, these cells analyze its chemical signature, create a countering serum, and use it to neutralize the threat. Afterward, cleansing cells clear up the remnants of the battle, ensuring the body returns to a state of health. Despite their vital role, these white blood cells are minuscule in size—just 15 microns in diameter. Yet, they are an incredibly effective and intelligent defense mechanism, embodying the perfection in which man has been created.
